Recording Studio Fundamentals

 

The fundamentals of operating a recording studio are taught hands-on, within a project studio environment. Learn basic concepts about signal pass, signal processing (EQ, compression and other dynamic processing,  noise reduction, time and stretching effects etc.)  signal routing, microphones basic, monitoring basic, DAW VS. Tape, basic DAW use and much more.

 

Desktop Music Production

 

This course focuses on using computers to produce music. Several software titles such as Sonar Producer, Sound Forge, and Acid  are used. In this course we explore working with loops and grooves, using samples and sample libraries, and utilizing the power of virtual instruments.

 

Contemporary Music Production Technique

 

This course explores the various modes of producing music. Software, hardware and the interaction between them is reviewed extensively. Using drum/groove machines, classic and modern synthesizers along side computer based DAW and virtual instruments. Learn how to make your vocals and instruments sound clean, in tune and modern. Learn what distinguishes a well produced music from a poorly produced one. Learn how to make your music stand out and how to get your music to be radio-ready.

 

Sound Design

 

Sound design is where art, science and your imagination merge to form new, unimagined textures, colors and rhythms. The Sound Design programs explores the different aspects of creating new sounds and sound effects for music and film. The course teaches concepts such as filters, envelopes, sampling, physical modeling, wave shaping and effect processing, within both computer based virtual instruments and real hardware instruments.
